Merry Christmas! The last painting of this year is situated in The Hague, the same city where I now have my solo show at the ROI.

Tram Platform shows a young girl standing on a platform waiting for her tram to show up. She's holding her cell phone, but she's looking up at something behind the viewer. I don't usually paint my figures like this, but it sure adds something extra here.

Through the window of the tram we see another girl playing with her phone as well. I couldn't paint a scene like this just a few years ago. It seems like we now spend every free moment with our phones. We grew so attached to it. The trams used to be ad free too.

In january I'm picking up my daily painting practice again. You can expect a small painting almost every day. I'm also planning on publishing more articles on my other blog about my philosophies on art and life or society in general. For now I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Video: Gerard Boersma- The Auction

New Video: The Auction

Second video clip me and Jasper Noordermeer made just last week. This time around my painting The Auction is the center of attention. Again you hear me speak Dutch, but the clip has English subtitles too. Nice note to add, I wear the same sweater as I did on my painting Me, Me, Me!

I'm really having fun making these little vids. I feel like a reporter must feel when presenting the news on location. Can't wait to make the next one! Not sure when that will be, but we're working on it. More video clips can be found on my Youtube Channel.

I'm still working on my commissioned paintings too. One is almost completed, but still needs a couple of days work. Of course my collector is the first one to see it once it's completely finished, I'll then post it here for all to see. In the meantime, I sure hope you enjoy me video clip The Auction!

New Video: The Crime

I've been wanting to do some video clips for a long time now, but my lack of knowledge of the medium always prevented me to do so. I still don't have any, but luckily my buddy Jasper Noordermeer does. He's excellent with the camera and knows how to direct, edit and produce as well.

We're planning on doing a series of short clips with me talking about my paintings or perhaps my philosophies on life and art in general as well. We're planning on shooting one whenever we find the time in our busy schedules. Hopefully it turns out to be a regular thing.

In any case, in todays clip you hear and see me talking about my protest painting The Crime. You're hear me speak Dutch, but Jasper provided the clip with some English subtitles too.

I sure hope you enjoy this little vid. I'm going to take a little break from my daily paintings, I've got tons of commissioned paintings piled up that need my attention bad. I'll post something new whenever I have the chance and will continue to post older and larger scaled paintings on my other blog Hyperrealism Paintings as well. More video clips can be found on my Youtube Channel.
