Girl With Ribbon by Roy Lichtenstein is of one of Pop Art's most inconic images. In 1961, art dealer Leo Castelli started displaying Lichtenstein's work at his gallery in New York. Lichtenstein had his first one-man show at the Castelli gallery in 1962; the entire collection was bought by influential collectors before the show even opened. I sure hope the woman on my painting isn't thinking about what painting's worth, but enjoys it for what it is.

A Bigger Splash is a large pop art painting by British artist David Hockney. It depicts a swimming pool beside a modern house in California, disturbed by a large splash of water created by an unseen figure who has apparently just jumped in from a diving board. The violent explosion of water caused by diver doesn't disturb the woman on my small study, she remains calm like the rest of Hockney's picture.

On this painting you see me enjoying an Not To Be Reproduced (La Reproduction Interdite) by Rene Magritte.

The original work by Magritte depicts a man standing in front of a mirror, but whereas the book on the mantelpiece is reflected correctly, the man's reflection also shows him from behind.

However, in my version I take the place of the man seen from behind in the mirror adding new meaning to this piece. This painting is a study for a yet to be painted larger work.

'I was walking along the road with two friends – the sun was setting – suddenly the sky turned blood red – I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence – there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city – my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety – and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.'

That's what Edvard Munch wrote about his painting The Scream in his diary. This painting has always been a personal favorite and thought it would be perfect for my third giant scale painting. Hope you enjoy it!

The woman on my painting is enjoying 'Treachery Of Images' also known as 'This Is Not A Pipe' by Rene Magritte who painted it when he was 30 years old.

This much discussed picture shows a pipe, but below it, Magritte wrote: 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe', French for 'This is not a pipe.'

And that is of course true to some extent: the painting is not a pipe, but rather an image of a pipe. As is my painting not a Magritte, but rather an image of a painting by Magritte. That's why I entitled it 'This Is Not A Magritte'.

After painting my very first large scale painting Kiss earlier this year I'm happy to present my second large scale painting of a woman enjoying a painting of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol.

In the following months after the death of Marilyn Monroe, Warhol made more than twenty silkscreen paintings of her, all based on the same publicity photograph from the 1953 film Niagara. By repeating the image, he evokes her ubiquitous presence in the media. 'The more you look at the same exact thing, the more the meaning goes away, and the better and emptier you feel,' Warhol has been reported to have said.

The woman on my painting is enjoying a portrait of Elizabeth Taylor by Andy Warhol. This portrait reflects the artist’s fascination with female celebrity. He first painted her portrait in 1963 when she was at the height of her career. Yet she was also severely ill with pneumonia. In this portrait Warhol used a publicity photograph for Taylor’s film ‘Butterfly 8’ as the basis for the screenprint. It is typical of his 1960s Pop style with vibrant, flat blocks of color.

On the painting we see my figure enjoying a painting by Marc Chagall. Painted the year after Chagall came to Paris in 1910, 'I and the Village' is influenced by memories of the artist's place of birth and his relationship to it.

In the village, peasants and animals lived side by side, in a mutual dependence here signified by the line from peasant to cow, connecting their eyes. I and the Village is nostalgic and magical, a rural fairy tale: objects jumble together, scale shifts abruptly, and a woman and two houses, at the painting's top, stand upside-down. This daringly whimsical style were at the time considered groundbreaking and very enjoyable up to this day.

The two women on my painting are sitting on a bench in a museum. In the background we see a glimpse of Edouard Manet's painting Nana.

This painting shows a young and beautiful woman who stands before a mirror with two extinguished candles, her face turned to the spectator. Her dress is incomplete; she wears a white chemise, blue corset, silk stockings and high-heeled footwear.

Both the title and the numerous details suggest that the picture represents a high class prostitute and her client. 'Nana' was a popular assumed name for female prostitutes during the second half of the 19th century, but I'm not sure my figures are aware of that.

By the mid-1960s, Warhol had amassed a huge public following. Engaging in the painting of self-portraits only further cultivated his fame. In time, Warhol’s self-portraits became as famous as the iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe or Elizabeth Taylor. The artist had himself become a celebrity.

The woman on my painting is enjoying Drowning Girl by Roy Lichtenstein. It is one of the most representative paintings of the pop art movement, and part of the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection since 1971.

The painting is considered among Lichtenstein's most significant works. Drowning Girl has been described as a "masterpiece of melodrama", and is one of the artist's earliest images depicting women in tragic situations, a theme to which he often returned in the mid-1960s.

The painting shows a teary-eyed woman on a turbulent sea. She is emotionally distressed, seemingly from a romance and my figure is taking it all in. The work is derived from a 1962 DC Comics panel. It is one of several Lichtenstein works that mention a character named Brad who is absent from the picture.

After being locked up in my studio for over a month I'm happy to present my very first large scale painting Kiss!

It measures a whopping 71x47" or 180x120cm. By far the largest hyperrealism painting I did thus far. For years I dreamt of painting something that big and that's why I organised a crowfunding event on Kicktstarter back in may.

Even though I didn't get fully funded with the support of my backers I was finally able to paint a really big one! So thank you all for your support, I really, really appreciate it!!!

Kiss shows a man enjoying a painting entitled The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. He painted it between 1907 and 1908, the highpoint of his so-called Golden Period, when he painted a number of works in a similar gilded style. I always loved this painting and thought it would be a perfect motive for my first large scale painting.

I'm now in process of getting everybody their rewards. If you haven't gotten yours, hold tight, it will get to you soon!

I'm also looking forward to paint more museum pieces (large scale I hope!) and exhibit them together in the nearby future.

Thanks again and I'll keep you posted!
