If you're interested in purchasing this painting just send me an email to info@gerardboersma.nl for more information and price. The two women on my painting are sitting on a bench in a museum. In the background we see a glimpse of Edouard Manet's painting Nana. This painting shows a young and beautiful woman who stands before a mirror with two extinguished candles, her face turned to the spectator. Her dress is incomplete; she wears a white chemise, blue corset, silk stockings and high-heeled footwear. Both the title and the numerous details suggest that the picture represents a high class prostitute and her client. 'Nana' was a popular assumed name for female prostitutes during the second half of the 19th century, but I'm not sure my figures are aware of that. kind regards, Gerard
