The woman on my painting is enjoying a painting by Yves Klein. His work explored "the void," immateriality, and the infinite, seeking to transcend traditional representation through monochrome paintings, fire paintings and using models as "living brushes" as in this painting.
At the LA Art Show years ago I met a woman who said she enjoyed my paintings. She also said her late husband used to paint too. As it turns out her husband happened to be Yves Klein. It was great meeting her.
