Kiosk - Man Looking To Buy Something At Kiosk
I'm leaving my LA series for a minute to show you this scene from the Central Station in Amsterdam. A man is looking to buy something at a kiosk. He scratches his ear confused as he is by the many choices the kiosk offers.
kind regards, Gerard

Yellow - Woman Looking At Claude Lorrain Getty Center
We're staying in the Getty today. The woman with the yellow shirt, after which I entitled my painting, is looking at Abduction of Europe by Claude Lorrain. This painter is mostly known for his landscapes full of light. Although there sometimes a bit too composed for me, I always love to look at them, the lighting is always amazing. Lorrain could hardly count and read, but he sure could paint!

Convalescent - Man Looking At Degas
One of my all time favourite painters is Degas and on todays painting you see his Convalescent. The painting depicts a woman who's succombed in great sorrow. The painting attests to Degas's interest in the world of women. My figure doesn't seem to be that interested in the painting, but is focused on something we cannot see. I thought the contrast between the woman in great sorrow and the man not caring much is quite interesting.

Bubba Gump - Shrimp Fish Store Santa Monica Pier
I could enter my studio easily! Today I got a scene for you on the Santa Monica Pier. On the painting you see a woman in front of a shrimp fish store called Bubba Gump. Well I'm not sure if that's name of the store, but Bubba Gump is defenitely the name of the shrimp brand. I loved hanging around the pier, looking at the sea, hearing it roar and all the fishermen trying to catch something. Quite a relaxing atmosphere.
I'm off to see the artists performing right in front of my studio, I can feel the bass already pumping!

Verizon - street scene Santa Monica Promenade
I completed the commissioned painting I was talking about last week! It turned out great, but unfortunately I cannot show it to you yet, the painting is a surprise gift.
But I do have Verizon to show you. The painting is a street scene I witnessed at the Santa Monica Promenade in Los Angeles. I think it's my favourite street there. I love the colors and shadows of the telephone booth by Verizon, after which I entitled the painting.
In other news, tomorrow we celebrate Liberation Day in the Netherlands. A lot of artists perform during the festivities and I think they're performing right next to my studio. At this moment some guys are putting fences around my building. I was planning to paint tomorrow, but right now I'm not sure if I can even enter my studio at all. We'll see how that goes!
