It took me some weeks to complete, but here it is: my painting of workers taking telephone bids at an art auction at Christie's. You might recognize some figures from previous daily paintings. The painting being auctioned is of course by Rothko. It actually is an image of it projected against the wall. I like how it towers above the workers of Christie's. To me it symbolizes that art is above money. The art business is about art first!

Another take on the telephone bids theme at auctionhouse Christie's. I love the simple setting and the dramatic lighting. One of these days I'll make a larger sized version of this theme, not sure yet about the composition, it still needs some work, but I will get there.

Todays paintings shows a couple of workers at auctionhouse Christie's taking bids by phone during a frantic auction.

I've been concentrating on smaller sized paintings again recently and I must say I'm really having fun with it. So much that I'm picking up my dailies for the time being. I have been going back and forth about returning to ebay and finally decide to do so. I couldn't come up with a more suitable painting than todays.
