20.4.09Escalator
In downtown Los Angeles I hung around the Ernst and Young Plaza for a while. The plaza is almost like a big hole in the ground, but it's nice to visit though. A lot of business men and woman grab a bite there during lunchtime at one of the many lunchrooms. The way to get there is by one of many escalators. On one of them I spotted this young lady, going up to leave again. I thought it would make a lovely theme for todays painting.

Today I completed the larger sized version of Lunch Break. It feels really good to concentrate on larger sized work for a change. Of course I make these all the time, but ever since I started my daily blog I have to share my time between small and larger work. So it feels good to fully dedicate myself to a painting more than one day. It gives me peace of mind and I can go all out on adding all these little details, which is quite typical for my style I guess. The painting is situated at the Ernst and Young Plaze in Downtown Los Angeles.

I thought I wouldn't make it today, but I did find enough painting time! On the Ernst and Young plaza in downtown LA I saw this young man having a lunch break. The man looked quite lonely to me, but he had his laptop handy. So who knows maybe he was chatting away with online friends.
This morning I went to the doctor to have a little lump removed behind my right ear. As I said yesterday it's nothing serious at all, but I do look a bit like Vincent Van Gogh today! Lunch Break G.
