Walking down main street recently this shop window caught my attention. That reminded me of what artist Pierre Bonnard once said: "Paint that what made the biggest impression on you." That's just what I did.

Sale is the last painting for this week as I'm preparing to post larger scaled paintings next week. Hope to see you then!

kind regards, Gerard

If you're interested in purchasing this painting just send me an email stating the title for more information and price. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

When I first saw this woman standing in front of a shop window I actually thought she was one of the dummies showing the latest style in fashion. I soon realised she's nothing of the sort, she's not a dummy, she has a head. A real person full of feelings and thoughts and definitely not for sale. The spotlight should be aimed at her and not at the lifeless goodies behind her.

Shop Window - Woman Window Shopping At PC Hooftstraat In Amsterdam

Shop Window

G. Boersma
acrylics on masonite
6.7" x 6" or 17 x 15 cm
2010
SOLD

I have been heavy on the auction theme this week, but I haven't forgotten about my urban scenes. A woman standing in front of a shop window is looking at some beautiful designer handbags. The scene takes place on the PC Hoofstraat in Amsterdam, the place to be for exclusive goods.
