23.4.16Hello- Boy With Cell Phone In Front Of Painting By Roy LichtensteinHello painting of a boy with a cell phone in front of a painting by Roy Lichtenstein G. Boersma Now my wife is studying for a new job I get to watch our kid a lot. I really love spending time with her, but it leaves little time for painting. So after 2 to 3 years of concentrating on larger scaled works I thought now would be a perfect time to get back to making small paintings again. It feels good I can tell you. For starters I thought this museum scene of a boy holding a cell phone in front of a painting by Roy Lichtenstein was just the perfect motive to get going. Not sure if I can make a painting on a daily basis, probably not, but I post as often as possible. Of course I keep on working larger scaled works as well! kind regards, Gerard

20.4.16Moved- Two Women Moved By Painting DujardinMoved painting of two women moved by painting Paul Heals A Crippled by Karel Dujardin G. Boersma I happened to witness this scene in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. There I saw two women cuddled together on a bench touched by a painting of Karel Dujardin, a Dutch golden age painter. In return I was touched by this whole scene that I had to paint it. kind regards, Gerard

5.4.16Painting in Progress- Day 5 Ralph's Supermarket
Painting In Progress I'm not satisfied with the portrait, but I left it for what it is and revisit it later. I'm now working on the background. It gets pretty messy at times as I'm painting over certain areas by accident. As you can see one figure almost disappeared and the other ones don't look too sharp either. I'll fix that at a later date. For I just want to get that light straight! kind regards, Gerard

4.4.16Painting in Progress- Day 4 Ralph's Supermarket
Painting In Progress Today I'm working on the portrait on one of the magazines in lower right corner. It still needs a lot of work, but perhaps by now you can tell who it is I'm painting. kind regards, Gerard

1.4.16Painting in Progress- Day 3 Ralph's Supermarket
Painting In Progress I'm blocking in colors and more colors not caring so much about details just yet. In case you're wondering what's what; on the left there's mostly candy, that black and brownish greenish blob in the middle will be a shopping car and on the far right I'm painting quite a few magazines. Well, back to blocking in colors! kind regards, Gerard
