Art Deco G. Boersma
I recently made a few studies of people enjoying works of art by Alphonse Mucha. I settled on making this larger piece of a man enjoying his painting entitled 'Reverie' which means 'dreaming'. Alphonse Mucha was a Czech painter and decorative artist best known for his distinct Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style, an art movement that was most popular between 1890 and 1910. Mucha produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements, postcards, and designs. Art Nouveau means New Art and was a reaction to the academic art of the 19th century. It was inspired by Celtic art and natural forms and structures, particularly the curved lines of plants and flowers The painting my figure is enjoying is a clear example. If you're interested in purchasing this painting just send me an email to info@gerardboersma.nl for more info, detailed pics and price.

In The Middle Of The Summer G. Boersma SOLD Tamara de Lempicka was a Polish painter active in the 1920s and 1930s, who spent her working life in France and the United States. She is best known for her polished Art Deco portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy, and for her highly stylized paintings of nudes. Her style was a blend of late, refined cubism and the neoclassical style. Lempicka placed high value on working to produce her own fortune, famously saying, 'There are no miracles, there is only what you make.' Climax G. Boersma SOLD The Climax is an 1893 illustration by Aubrey Beardsley (1872–1898), a leading artist of the Decadent and Aesthetic movements. It depicts a scene from Oscar Wilde's play Salome, in which the femme fatale Salome has just kissed the severed head of John the Baptist, which she grasps in her hands. Elements of eroticism, symbolism, and Orientalism are present in the piece. This illustration is one of sixteen Wilde commissioned Beardsley to create for the publication of the play. The series is considered to be Beardsley's most celebrated work. Kiss painting of a man enjoying painting by Gustav Klimt G. Boersma If you're interested in purchasing this painting just send me an email to info@gerardboersma.nl for more information and price.
After being locked up in my studio for over a month I'm happy to present my very first large scale painting Kiss! It measures a whopping 71x47" or 180x120cm. By far the largest hyperrealism painting I did thus far. For years I dreamt of painting something that big and that's why I organised a crowfunding event on Kicktstarter back in may. Even though I didn't get fully funded with the support of my backers I was finally able to paint a really big one! So thank you all for your support, I really, really appreciate it!!! Kiss shows a man enjoying a painting entitled The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. He painted it between 1907 and 1908, the highpoint of his so-called Golden Period, when he painted a number of works in a similar gilded style. I always loved this painting and thought it would be a perfect motive for my first large scale painting. I'm now in process of getting everybody their rewards. If you haven't gotten yours, hold tight, it will get to you soon! I'm also looking forward to paint more museum pieces (large scale I hope!) and exhibit them together in the nearby future. Thanks again and I'll keep you posted! kind regards, Gerard
