The woman on my painting is enjoying a painting by Theo van Doesburg, a key figure of De Stijl art movement together with Piet Mondrian.
The name 'Counter Composition' means a break from Mondrian's strict use of horizontal and vertical lines by introducing dynamism through diagonals and tilting shapes to create illusions of depth and movement. Mondrian hated it.
