24.6.08The Garbage
While walking through Amsterdam last saturday with the soccer fans all dressed up in orange screaming and shouting for Holland, I saw this man going through the garbage. At first I had to laugh, because I thought he was one of those fans who drank too many beers already. It took me while to realise that he was none of the above. The man works for the city and collects all the garbage produced by millions. Usually his uniform really stands out, but not during a soccer match. A tough job, that's for sure, but very respectable one too. Just imagine what would happen if those guys were on strike for a day or two. What a mess that would be!
